The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Ahmedabad Rural Police has seized about 700 kg of poppy straw, locally called pos doda, from a truck on Dholka Road. Police arrested a man from Rajasthan in connection with the case.
Tip-off led to interception
The SOG acted on a tip-off about suspected transport of narcotics. Its team kept watch on Dholka Road and stopped a suspicious truck passing through the area.
Police then weighed the contents. The contraband was packed in 37 sacks.
