- Nifty rose nearly 1.3% on Friday
- Nifty closed above 22,500
- IT, FMCG and auto stocks led the gains
Nifty ended its eight-week losing run on Friday, climbing nearly 1.3% to finish above 22,500.
Information technology, fast-moving consumer goods and automobile shares drove the rally, lifting the index sharply after weeks of decline.
Still, steady selling by foreign institutional investors, higher US bond yields, crude oil prices and the Reserve Bank of India’s shift to calibrated tightening keep the market outlook clouded.
