The second edition of the Naval Commanders Conference-2026, held twice a year, was held in New Delhi from September 29 to October 1, 2026. This high-level conference has been an important platform for a comprehensive review of the operational and logistics preparedness of the Navy. During the three-day conference, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasad, Chief of Defense Staff General N.S. In this conference, Naval Commanders discussed important aspects related to operational preparedness, logistics and maintenance and improvements made in training and human resource management. These topics were discussed keeping in mind the changing global security situation and rapid advances in technology. It also paid special attention to the adoption of Artificial Intelligence and the growing role of autonomous and unmanned systems.

Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasad stressed the need for rapid adoption of technology and strengthening domestic capabilities in critical areas such as semiconductor, artificial intelligence and quantum technology.

Chief of Defense Staff General N.S. Raja Subramaniam emphasized the important role of the Indian Navy as a strategic capability enhancing force in safeguarding national interests. He appreciated the Navy's operational commitment towards ensuring energy security and its continuous efforts towards technology adoption and indigenization. He also stressed the need for technology-based transformation, strengthening and better coordination between the three services.

Army Chief General Dheeraj Seth gave information about the preparedness outline of the Indian Army to deal with regional security challenges.

The major discussions held during the Commanders' Conference focused on building a combat-ready, reliable, united and capable military force to face future challenges. For this, important aspects like joint functioning, better coordination between various agencies, effective utilization of resources and strategic coordination were focused.
