During the implementation phase starting from 2nd October (Gandhi Jayanti) till 31st October 2026, the Ministry will dispose of 176 Public Grievances, 100 Public Grievance Appeals, 9 Parliamentary Assurances, 15 MP References and 4 State Government References and will also create building space by disposing of waste material.
The Ministry has been actively participating in every edition of the special campaign since 2021.
The preparation phase, held from 15 to 30 September 2026, focused on ensuring the Ministry's preparedness for the campaign. Dr. Vineet Joshi, Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, visited various departments of the Ministry at Jeevan Bharti Bhawan in New Delhi on 17 September 2026 and reviewed the preparations of the Ministry for the campaign. He encouraged the officers and employees to keep the office premises clean to ensure better workplace environment and increase productivity. During the preparation phase, the Ministry identified pending matters (including references and parliamentary matters from Members of Parliament, State Governments and the Prime Minister's Office) for resolution. Records management was streamlined, cleanliness drive sites were selected, unusable materials were assessed for disposal and e-waste items were identified for safe disposal under e-waste management rules. Related data uploaded on dedicated portal for Special Drive for Disposal of Pending Cases (SCDPM) 6.0.
