Nearly 20 lakh voters in Meghalaya have been cleared for the final publication of the voters' list, which is scheduled to be published on October 26.

Chief Electoral Officer, B.D.R Tiwari said 19, 96, 297 electors in the state have been parked for final publication following the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls 2026.

6,13,512 cases out of the 6,51,735 notices issued, have completed hearings, covering 94.14 per cent. On the other hand, 1,510 electors were found ineligible and 344 notices remain pending.

The CEO said Block Level Officers (BLOs) would visit the concerned electors to collect documents, with hearings required only in exceptional cases. Help Desks and Special Camps would also be assisting vulnerable groups. Meanwhile, 23,259 applications have been received and digitised across Meghalaya.
