The Assam Licensed Service Area (LSA) of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) achieved a historic milestone by securing the first position among all LSAs across the country. The honour was presented by Dr.Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Government of India, to Shri RajendraMeshram, Additional Director General, Assam LSA, during a grand ceremony held on October 7 at the India Mobile Congress in New Delhi.
The award was presented in recognition of the Assam LSA’s outstanding performance across key parameters, including telecom service expansion, awareness programmes, radiation testing, CAF audits, technical discussions, licences issued, grievance redressal, disaster management and action against illegal telecom activities.
Expressing his delight at the prestigious achievement, Shri RajendraMeshram said that the recognition is a testament to the hard work, commitment and efficiency of the entire Assam LSA team. He added that Assam LSA has been undertaking several initiatives under the Sanchar Saathi and Sanchar Mitra schemes, which are expected to benefit citizens across the country.
