Ahmedabad crime: Servant held for Rs 35 lakh theft in Shahibaug

The Ahmedabad City Crime Branch has arrested Jayantilal alias Vinod Khetmal Jain for a theft of over Rs 35 lakh in Shahibaug.

How the theft was carried out

The accused allegedly took jobs as a servant in the homes of wealthy people. He gained their trust and stole lakhs within a few hours.

The house targeted was that of a businessman in Shahibaug.

Property seized

Police seized property worth Rs 35.06 lakh from the accused.

A complaint in the case was registered at Shahibaug Police Station.

Criminal record

The accused is described as a habitual offender from Shahibaug. He was previously involved in seven major thefts.

He is 26 years old. He was caught while tracing millionaires from Surat to Ahmedabad.
