Department of Posts Organises Two-Day Zone-wise Workshop on “One State One GST” at Srinagar

The Department of Posts is taking steps towards the implementation of the “One State One GST” initiative across the Department. As part of the preparatory exercise and to review the readiness and activities required for its effective implementation, a two-day Zone-wise Workshop on “One State One GST” was organised at Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir Postal Circle, from 05 October 2026 to 06 October 2026.

The workshop brought together senior officers and representatives from various Postal Circles of the Northern Zone to deliberate upon preparedness, operational requirements and implementation-related aspects of the initiative. The workshop was inaugurated by Col. Sagar Hanuman Singh, Chief Postmaster General, Jammu & Kashmir Postal Circle and Shri Shreeshail Malge, Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser, Department of Posts, Dak Bhawan, New Delhi along with Shri Amanullah Tak, Director (Accounts), Jammu & Kashmir Postal Circle; Shri Saurabh M. Deshmukh, Director (Taxation), Dak Bhawan, New Delhi, and Shri Adam Mohiddin Senior Superintendent Post offices, Srinagar Division.

Officials and representatives from Delhi Postal Circle, Punjab Postal Circle, Haryana Postal Circle, Uttarakhand Postal Circle, Himachal Pradesh Postal Circle, along with the host Jammu & Kashmir Postal Circle, participated in the workshop. The two-day deliberations focused on reviewing the preparedness of the participating Postal Circles and assessing the activities and requirements for the smooth implementation of “One State One GST” in the Department of Posts. The workshop provided an opportunity for the participating Circles to share their experiences, discuss operational issues and deliberate upon measures to ensure uniformity and seamless implementation of the initiative. The workshop also emphasised the importance of coordinated efforts among the participating Postal Circles and various stakeholders to ensure effective preparedness and timely implementation of the initiative.

The workshop concluded with a renewed focus on collaborative and coordinated efforts among all stakeholders for the successful implementation of “One State One GST”.
