- Delhi government orders retail liquor shops closed across the capital
- Order is a precautionary step, based on Delhi Police inputs
- Jantar Mantar protests demand resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar
Delhi has ordered retail liquor shops across the capital to close on October 9 and 10. The state government issued the order as a precaution.
The government pointed to the current situation in the city and to inputs it received from Delhi Police. The aim, it said, is to keep public order intact.
The order comes as protests at Jantar Mantar demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
