The Cotton Corporation of India Ltd (CCI) will hold a showcase event on 6 October 2026 in Hyderabad, Telangana. The event is part of Reform Utsav 2026, and the Ministry of Textiles is coordinating the reforms on show.
The aim is to show how cotton procurement has become more farmer-friendly, transparent, technology-driven and efficient. Senior government officials, Telangana government representatives, policymakers, farmers and industry associations are expected to attend.
Digital procurement at the centre
The Kapas Kisan digital platform will be a key focus. It brings together farmer registration, slot booking, procurement communication and Aadhaar-enabled payments in one system.
CCI says these steps aim to make the process more transparent, cut procedural hurdles and give farmers a clearer view of procurement.
Quality, traceability and productivity
The event will also cover CCI’s work on quality and traceability. This includes contamination control, digital traceability and promotion of premium cotton under the Kasturi Cotton Bharat initiative.
The showcase will also look at the High-Density Planting System (HDPS). It is being promoted with agricultural institutions to narrow the productivity gap and improve farm-level returns.
Farmers and industry share experiences
A presentation on CCI’s major reforms will be followed by a short film on their implementation and impact. Cotton farmers and industry stakeholders will then speak about their experience of the reforms.
Organisers say the event will help move reforms from policy to field-level results and encourage collaboration among farmers, industry and government agencies.
