Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence has kick-started the implementation phase of Special Campaign 6.0 from October 2 which will continue till October 31, 2026, with a focus on Swachhata and reducing pendency across its offices. This year, the Nation-wide Campaign will also place special emphasis on the effective collection, segregation and disposal of e-waste.

As part of Special Campaign 6.0, the Department has laid particular emphasis on field and outstation offices providing public services, in addition to attached and subordinate offices, Autonomous Bodies and Public Sector Undertakings.

During the preparatory phase of the campaign which lasted between 15th and 30th September 2026, the department conducted various activities including mobilising offices, officers and ground functionaries; identifying pending references and cleanliness campaign sites; assessing redundant material for disposal; planning for efficient space management; disposal of scrap; record management; and identifying measures for effective collection and segregation of e-waste.

The Department of Defence Production had previously recorded significant outcomes during Special Campaign 5.0, with 17.42 lakhs sq. ft. of space freed and ₹15.62 cr. earned through scrap disposal. In addition to this, 27,500 physical files were weeded out and 1,890 electronic files were closed.
