The Department of Defence Production under the Ministry of Defence has started the implementation phase of Special Campaign 6.0. The drive runs from October 2 to October 31, 2026.
The campaign targets cleanliness and pending cases across the department’s offices. This year it also puts special stress on collecting, segregating and disposing of e-waste nationwide.
Focus on public-facing offices
The department has given particular attention to field and outstation offices that deliver public services. Attached and subordinate offices, autonomous bodies and public sector undertakings are also covered.
Preparations done in September
A preparatory phase ran from September 15 to September 30, 2026. During this period, the department mobilised offices, officers and ground staff.
Teams identified pending references and sites for cleanliness work. They also assessed redundant material for disposal and planned better use of space.
Other steps included scrap disposal, record management and measures to collect and segregate e-waste.
Results from Campaign 5.0
The previous campaign freed 17.42 lakh sq ft of space. It also earned ₹15.62 crore through scrap disposal.
In addition, 27,500 physical files were weeded out and 1,890 electronic files were closed.
