A farmer producer group from Sonipat, Haryana, has sent 24 MT of frozen food to Canada with help from APEDA. The consignment was flagged off on 1 October 2026.
What was shipped
The shipment has 2,295 boxes of frozen products. Its total value is CAD 35,140. Aterna Foods Producer Company Limited is the exporter.
The range includes green peas, mixed vegetables, peas and carrots, sweet corn and samosa, among other items.
Support for the exporter
APEDA supported the exporting unit under its Financial Assistance Scheme. The authority has also been linking FPOs and FPCs with exporters to help farmer groups reach overseas buyers.
APEDA says the FPO-led model can improve returns for producers. It also gives farmer groups a bigger role in export value chains.
Next steps
APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev congratulated the exporter and stakeholders at the event. He said direct export by the FPO would significantly raise value for producers.
He also thanked NIFTEM for its contribution. Dev said he is hopeful of expanding exports to the Canadian market.
