The IIM Kashipur Foundation for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (FIED), in collaboration with the Ministry of Rural Development, Uttarakhand, under the Rural Enterprise Acceleration Project (REAP), has successfully conducted 13 entrepreneurship boot camps across all 13 districts of Uttarakhand.
The initiative aimed to nurture entrepreneurial aspirations among youth and emerging entrepreneurs across the state. More than 1,500 participants benefited from the boot camps, gaining practical insights into entrepreneurship, business development, innovation, and enterprise creation. Sessions were conducted by industry experts, IIM Kashipur faculty members, government officials, and successful entrepreneurs, providing participants with a diverse blend of academic knowledge, practical experience, and institutional guidance.
The Dehradun boot camp was attended by Ms. Jharna Kamthan, IAS, Project Director, REAP. During the programme, she announced that 20 promising startups emerging from these boot camps would receive further training, mentorship, and financial support through IIM Kashipur FIED. The support is aimed at helping selected entrepreneurs strengthen their business models and translate their ideas into sustainable enterprises.
Professor Neeraj Dwivedi, Director, IIM Kashipur, also attended the Dehradun programme and reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem of Uttarakhand. He emphasised the importance of creating opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs and supporting them through knowledge, mentorship, and institutional networks.
Through this initiative, IIM Kashipur FIED and REAP have taken a significant step towards fostering grassroots entrepreneurship, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and contributing to the economic development of Uttarakhand.
