Karnataka’s collection of 30 mementos is on show in the 8th edition of PM Mementos, the e-auction of gifts received by the Prime Minister. The collection reflects the state’s diverse traditions, crafts and cultural heritage.

Faith and community traditions

A memento of Goddess Saradamba, considered an incarnation of Saraswati, reflects Sringeri’s long link with learning and devotion. Artefacts linked to Sant Sevalal show the spiritual and cultural identity of the Banjara community.

Crafts and rural culture

Kinnal art and Bidriware pieces showcase Karnataka’s craftsmanship. A photo print of the Kambala Festival captures a living rural tradition.

The Mysore Peta and other ceremonial turbans speak of identity, honour and celebration.

Modern achievements

The collection also includes present-day achievements. A signed badminton racket of Paralympic medallist Suhas Yathiraj is among the items. Contemporary artworks and a replica scale model of the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research sit alongside them.

Together, the 30 mementos show the many cultural worlds within one state. The auction keeps these items preserved and shared beyond the occasions on which they were presented.

Auction details

The 8th edition is live and has been extended until 31 October 2026. Proceeds will support the Namami Gange Project.

Bidders can place bids online through the official PM Mementos e-Auction portal.
