  • Redeveloped DST and MoST websites launched by Dr. Jitendra Singh
  • Single-window access to grants, fellowships, schemes and opportunities
  • Content available in 22 languages through Bhashini integration
  • Accessibility tools include screen-reader support and adjustable fonts
  • Sites follow DBIM 3.0 and GIGW 3.0 government digital standards

Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh has launched redeveloped websites for the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST). He said the portals put citizens first, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.

Dr. Jitendra Singh said the guiding principle is “Science by the People, Science for the People”. He said the aim is to make science available, accessible and affordable.

One window for grants and schemes

The Minister said the platform will serve students, research fellows, researchers, academic institutions, innovators, start-ups, entrepreneurs, media professionals and citizens. It gives single-window access to DST schemes, grants, fellowships and other opportunities.

Users can find eligibility criteria, application guidelines, calls for proposals, awards, results and official notifications. A scheme and opportunity finder helps them locate research funding and application forms. A central document repository holds guidelines, policy papers, reports and administrative forms.

Languages and accessibility

The sites integrate Bhashini, which makes content available in 22 languages. They offer adjustable font sizes, high-contrast display, link highlighting, letter-spacing and line-height controls, and screen-reader support.

The responsive design works on desktops, tablets and mobile phones. The sites were built to DBIM 3.0 and GIGW 3.0 standards, which cover branding, accessibility, cybersecurity and usability.

Security and what it means for users

The websites use SSL/TLS encryption, cybersecurity assessments and CERT-In guidelines. A Content Delivery Network is meant to keep pages loading quickly during heavy traffic, such as scheme-result announcements and application deadlines.

Prof. Umesh V. Waghmare, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, was present at the launch. The National Informatics Centre (NIC), the project management team and a development agency carried out the redevelopment with DST’s internal divisions.
