Two artefacts from Sikkim are among the items up for auction in the 8th edition of PM Mementos, now extended until 31 October 2026.
Two Buddhist-linked pieces
The first is a finely crafted brass sculpture of Lord Buddha. Sikkim’s Governor gifted it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The second is a Tibetan Buddhist tabletop prayer wheel, known as Mani Khorlo. It is embossed with the sacred “Om Mani Padme Hum” mantra.
Bids and proceeds
Proceeds from the auction will go to the Namami Gange Project. Bidders can place their bids online through the official PM Mementos e-Auction portal.
Cultural reach
The auction puts Sikkim’s heritage on a national platform. The organisers say such initiatives can bring India’s diverse cultural traditions closer to citizens.
