Big win for Assam: DoT’s Assam LSA ranks first across India

The unit was honoured at the India Mobile Congress in New Delhi, where it was judged on nine performance areas. Its Sanchar Saathi and Sanchar Mitra work is meant to reach citizens nationwide.

The Assam Licensed Service Area of the Department of Telecommunications has been ranked first among all such areas in the country. The unit’s top spot marks a landmark result for the region.

Award presented in New Delhi

Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, handed the award to Shri Rajendra Meshram, Additional Director General of Assam LSA. The ceremony took place on October 7 at the India Mobile Congress in New Delhi.

Judged on nine parameters

The honour recognises the unit’s strong results across several areas. These include expanding telecom services, running awareness drives, and conducting radiation tests.

The list also covers CAF audits, technical discussions, and licences issued. Grievance redressal, disaster management and action against illegal telecom activity were also assessed.

Credit to the team

Meshram said the recognition reflects the hard work, dedication and efficiency of the whole Assam LSA team. He said the unit is carrying out several initiatives under the Sanchar Saathi and Sanchar Mitra schemes. These are expected to benefit citizens across the country.
