Goa drug bust: NCB seizes Charas, cocaine, MDMA; three arrested

The arrests followed searches in Mapusa, a train interception at Thivim Railway Station and a follow-up operation in Colvale. Investigators have recovered Charas weighing 87 grams from two persons on the train.

Three people have been arrested after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Goa Zonal Unit seized several suspected narcotic substances in Goa. The seizures came from a series of searches and operations.

Searches in Mapusa

NCB officials conducted multiple operations on September 29. The first was a search of a residential premises in Mapusa, Bardez. Officers seized the following suspected substances:

Train interception and Colvale arrest

In a related operation, NCB officials stopped two persons travelling by train at Thivim Railway Station. They recovered 87 grams of a brown, sticky substance suspected to be Charas.

The probe then led the team to Colvale. There, officers seized 2.35 grams of a suspected Charas from another person.

Investigation continues

Further investigation is underway in the case. The NCB said it continues to act against illicit trafficking and distribution of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in Goa.

The bureau has urged members of the public with information on the sale or trafficking of narcotic drugs to contact the MANAS – National Narcotics Helpline on toll-free number 1933. The caller’s identity will be kept strictly confidential.
