The Competition Commission of India has cleared a deal giving funds linked to Bain Capital sole control of Omega-Meyer Limited and Meyer Organics Private Limited.
Who is taking control
The buyers are BCPE Wellbeing Holdco Two Limited and Integral Investments Asia IV Limited. Both are investment vehicles managed or advised by Bain Capital.
Bain Capital is a private equity investment firm based in the USA. It puts money into companies across several industries.
Those sectors include information technology, healthcare, retail and consumer products, communications, financial services, and industrial and manufacturing.
What the companies do
Omega-Meyer Limited owns and controls a group of companies and affiliates trading as Vitabiotics. Meyer Organics Private Limited serves as the owner of the Meyer Organics business.
Both companies make nutraceuticals, sold globally as well as in India.
Meyer Organics also makes and supplies some over-the-counter and prescription finished-dose pharmaceuticals in India.
