  • The 8th edition of 'Winderji India' will be held from October 7 to 9, 2026

Shri Pralhad Joshi, Minister of New & Renewable Energy, Education & Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, will inaugurate the 8th edition of ‘WinderG India’ conference on 8 October 2026 at Chennai Trade Centre. This is India's major wind energy related program.

The three-day event will commence with a grand inauguration ceremony in which Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy and Power and Thiru C.T.R., Minister of Energy Resources and Law, Government of Tamil Nadu, will be present. Nirmal Kumar will attend. Senior officials of central and state governments, wind energy associations and industry leaders will also be present in this program.

The inauguration ceremony will include announcements of global MOUs (memorandum of understanding) and release of major reports related to this sector. Additionally, states showing leadership in the wind energy sector will also be honoured.

India has produced a record 6.05 GW of wind power in FY 2025-26, taking the total capacity to 58.52 GW by August 2026. Work is underway to achieve 28 GW capacity, which will help meet the target of 100 GW by 2030.

‘WinderG India 2026’, scheduled from October 7 to 9, 2026, will include a 3-day trade fair, 2-day conference, technical sessions, round table discussions, live demonstrations, B2B and B2G meetings and educational sessions. This exclusive event will become a global hub for the wind energy sector, bringing together approximately 400 global exhibitors and 500 delegates from over 20 countries; Besides, special country pavilions of Denmark, Germany and Spain will also add to its speciality.

The program will focus on domestic value addition, next generation advanced turbine platforms, heavy-duty gearboxes, AII-based O&M (operation and maintenance) and offshore wind capabilities. The conference will feature high-level discussions on planning framework, competition in manufacturing, strengthening strategies and new dimensions of offshore wind energy.

The event is being organized by ‘Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association’ (IWTMA) and ‘PDA Ventures Private Limited’ in collaboration with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and Ministry of Power. This program will demonstrate a united commitment at the national and international level to enhance India's renewable energy capabilities.
