Northern Railway to operate two festival special train trips between New Delhi and Katra

In view of the heavy rush of passengers during the festive season, Northern Railway will operate two trips of reserved festival special trains between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.

Train No. 04083 New Delhi-Katra will depart from New Delhi at 2 PM on October 9 and 16, reaching Katra at 3 AM the next day. The return train, 04084 Katra-New Delhi, will leave Katra at 10 AM on October 10 and 17, reaching New Delhi at 11:30 PM the same day.

The 655-km service will comprise 22 LHB coaches and halt at Sonipat, Panipat, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Dhandari Kalan, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Kathua, Jammu Tawi and Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan stations.

Another special service, Train Nos. 04081/04082, is already operating and will continue till October 26.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu, Uchit Singhal, said the services have been introduced to facilitate the growing number of devotees visiting Mata Vaishno Devi during the festive season and urged passengers to book tickets in advance.
